speech The skills used when cooking a meal are many, in the preparations, the equipment used, experimentation with ingredients and its presentation. We share recipes that work and some are handed down and passed around for generations. However, in our spoken conversations often we are unskilled making a 'meal' of them, sometimes accepting what is unpalatable. We eat with great purpose daily, yet communicate continuously sometimes without due consideration for the 'food' for our thoughts. Through speech we have the opportunity:
atthespace is simply a space to allow things to emerge ~ in body, speech and mind. By providing a purpose built, adaptable space, worthwhile discourses can be actively created and their dynamics purposefully supported to ensure the meaning we are looking for is easily found. Club 451: Is a different form of book club and an invitation into a new way to think about books. In Ray Bradbury's novel 'Fahrenheit 451' a future world is described where books are banned and people have forgotten why they read. To preserve the thoughts and creativity of the past, individuals concerned for the future 'become' a book recalling the words in speech. Club 451 recalls this tradition where the participants meet and together become a 'library' of books through speech. Club 451 now meets atthespace and each month we become a different book. >read more ...
